I think you hit on an important area which is the easy of access for the students who need the extra practice. It sounds like Skritter will be something that is fairly easy for them to use and they can do it at home. I didn't really think about the fact that some students would not have Chinese speaking parents so this solution is perfect for them. You make some great suggestions for the creators of Skritter. I wonder if you can send them an email link to your podcast? Your idea of incorporating video and the history of the characters would make the learning more personal and is a great idea!
I agree with Dina that it important to remember that this tool is for students who need extra practice. You mentioned that there weren't any pedagogical implications but I think the fact that you are offering another way to learn to students who may not be getting it the traditional way is huge. This fits in from pedagogical standpoint as being scaffolding or differentiation. I think you would be a great resource for Skritter to listen to given your experience. Awesome!
